Did you know PLS has a client journalist? CL is a client at one of our programs in the Northeast Region. She regularly writes and shares articles for our monthly newsletter. She does such a great job with these we thought they would be fun to share! This past month, she wrote an article about a really neat event, Night to Shine. Enjoy!

Amidst COVID-19, events have been canceled left and right, but the organizers of Night to Shine at Pathways Church had a plan! They held a drive-thru version of the event; paparazzi, red carpet and all! We would make stops along the way to receive a tiara or crown, dessert box (complete with a cupcake, cookies, chocolates and other goodies), a HUGE paparazzi cheering section, cheering on every king and queen that went by. Some kings and queens chose to walk the red carpet, but I chose to get my professional picture taken inside the van. At the end of the paparazzi filled maze, I got a swag bag and a bag filled with crafts and sensory slime. Even Pearl House Assistant Program Manager, Amber, who chauffeured me to the event, thought this was a cool thing to do for us kings and queens! I even got a sign that says, “A queen lives here!” All in all, I thought this was an AWESOME idea amidst Covid-19!
